IVs are a Pokémon's hidden "genes" (0–31 per stat). We assume 31, the best possible. If you've checked them with an IV judge, enter them here for an exact plan.

EV training, explained simply

What are EVs?

Effort Values are hidden points a Pokémon earns every time it defeats another Pokémon. Each species gives EVs in one or two stats — a Rattata gives Speed, a Geodude gives Defense. Every 4 EVs add about one point to that stat at level 100.

How many can a Pokémon have?

Up to 252 useful EVs in one stat, and 510 in total. That's why most trained Pokémon max two stats (252 + 252) and put the last 4 somewhere else.

How do I see my Pokémon's EVs?

Most games don't show them as numbers. That's why this planner works from the stats on your summary screen instead — it works out the EVs behind them for you.

What makes EV training faster?

Vitamins (Protein, Carbos…) give 10 EVs each. Power items add extra EVs per battle, and Pokérus doubles everything. Turn them on in the plan to see how many battles you save.

Does it work on Switch and Switch 2?

Yes. Nothing is read from your game — you type in what you see, so it works for every game from Ruby and Sapphire to Scarlet and Violet, on any console or emulator.

Which Pokémon should I defeat?

Pick ones that give only the stat you want, so nothing is wasted: HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed.
